An Ashdown man who was granted parole in November after being convicted of murder was released from prison Wednesday, according to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Timothy Howard was originally convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death in the 1997 killings of Brian and Shannon Day, as well as the attempted capital murder of the couple’s 7-month-old son. The conviction was overturned and he was convicted in May 2015 of the lesser charges of second degree murder and attempted second degree murder. He was sentenced to 38 years in prison.
Howard was denied parole in November 2015 and ordered by the the Arkansas Parole Board to complete a 1,440-hour vocational training course before his next parole hearing.
