The Mineral Springs City Council has voted to partner with Diamond Bank and move the city’s police department to the bank full time. During a special council meeting held on Thursday, the council unanimously voted to accept the bank’s proposal in providing building and utilities with an annual stipend of $15,000 payable in advance, rather than at the end of each year. The city had made a counter proposal to the original two offers and accepted this new offer. Mayor Bobby Tullis would like to thank the bank and says it should provide better police coverage for all local businesses. The relocation of the Mineral Springs Police Department will take place soon, once renovations can be made and equipment moved. The agreement will be on a yearly contract with 30 days notice required at the end of the contract to make a change.
