The city of Nashville sales tax continues to be higher than average. Mayor Billy Ray Jones says he estimates that the sales tax has been rising for the past four to five years and credits the town for shopping locally.
“I think out of 82 months, the sales tax has gone up with the exception of four or five months. We have been real blessed with a lot of construction going on. I think it is just a combination of things and us promoting the city of Nashville.”
The mayor continued to say that he also thought that more industry growth would occur in the next couple of years.
