Howard Memorial Hospital board member Johnny McJunkins of Mineral Springs has been named as a Member at Large to the Arkansas Association of Hospital Trustees.
Johnny is a retired computer programmer and associate professor of computer technology at Texarkana College in Texarkana, TX.
Johnny received a B.A. degree in English from Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) in 1972, an A.S. degree in Data Processing from Texarkana College in 1987 and an M.S. in Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Texarkana in 1997. He earned a Cisco CCNA certification in 2002 and also qualified as a Cisco Networking instructor. During his career at Texarkana College (1988 – 2015) he worked in a variety of computer fields while teaching classes in the same. He played a part in moving Texarkana College into both the age of personal computers and the Internet. His last 5 years at the college were devoted to teaching Cisco, computer languages and scripts, and Web design in online and hybrid settings.
Johnny is a lifelong resident of Howard County. He was born in the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, AR, the facility he now represents as a board member. He and Daryl his wife of 41 years, live in Mineral Springs, AR. His recreational interests include hunting, fly fishing and fly tying.
