Carolyn Sue Smith

Mrs. Carolyn Sue (Cecil) Smith, age 85, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, Nena, and friend.

Carolyn was born on September 8, 1938, in Lockesburg to the late Jessie Opal Wilder. She was a graduate of Lockesburg High School. On August 16, 1958, she married the love of her life, the late Robert Lewis Smith. They resided in Lockesburg, Arkansas, and were blessed with five children: Andy, Morgan, Lynn (whom she called Beverly), Matt, and Ray.

Carolyn worked at the Bank of Lockesburg for many years. After her retirement, she spent her time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought so much joy to her life. She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, working in her yard, and tending to her flower beds. She loved to cook for her family and always looked forward to Sunday afternoon lunch and holidays. She would prepare a large meal and then sit on the front porch visiting and watching the kids play in the yard. She loved her family dearly and gave the best hugs.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lewis Smith, her mother Jessie Opal Wilder, her sister Martha Helen Hollis, one son Morgan Smith, two daughters-in-law, Annie and Sherry Smith, and one granddaughter, Carrie Tollett.

She is survived by her children; Andy Smith, Lynn (Mike) Tollett, Matt (Kim) Smith, Ray (Melissa) Smith; one sister; Teresa Wilder; one brother-in-law; Terry (Ann) Smith; nine grandchildren; Lauren Smith, Jessica (Jason) Clay, Michael (Erica) Tollett, Kameron (Amy) Smith, Haylee (Chad) Roberts, Rachel Smith, Nicole (Tristan) Kropf, Luke Smith and Kade Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren; Hayden, Colby and Kutter Clay; Adalyn, Jackson and Waylon Tollett; Cassian Kropf; Paisley Roberts; and Michael and Korbin Smith.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Smith will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Coulter Memorial Garden in Lockesburg with Bro. Jerrel Helms, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7th at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel.
