Nashville School District Report to the Public

School principals presented information during the Nashville School District report to the public this week. During the meeting, each campus administrator talked about strategies to improve or maintain test scores. Seventh grade has adopted a new math curriculum and a new reading assessment has been implemented in grades K-6. NES Principal Rick Rebsamen said that they would utilize methods to increase student reading achievement. Nashville Primary School staff are looking at holding literacy nights and a weekly book reading on Facebook for students has started.

Junior and senior level students at Nashville are also taking part in math tutoring and intervention time. Several students are taking advantage of the new career readiness and industrial maintenance program, offered through UA Cossatot.

Superintendent Doug Graham reported a total enrollment of 1,916 students, just two students below last year’s figure.
