During the June meeting of the South Pike County board of education, superintendent Brad Sullivan reported he has started the process for the district to receive the state partnership money for the two roofing projects.

Sullivan also reported the band hall building foundation has been affected by a drainage issue and will need to addressed in the near future. He said work on the fieldhouse is nearing completion and work is currently underway on the floors in the elementary and high school.

Sullivan said the district is preparing several options for the re-entry of students this fall.

He said graduation has been scheduled for July 18 at 10:30 AM on the football field.

Board members approved hiring of Brittany Rogers as the school nurse and voted to extend the contract of Chad Brinkley as the district technology coordinator. Brinkley’s contract is for 200 days at $210 a day.

Board members also approved the purchase of air conditioning units at a cost of $24,741.27 with money from the building fund.
