Mineral Springs City Council Approves Park Reorganization

The Mineral Springs City Council, in a special meeting held Wednesday, approved an ordinance concerning a park commission. The ordinance reorganizes the commission and sets terms for the existing members and three new commissioners. Mayor Bobby Tullis said the group had not been meeting regularly and now any commissioner that misses more than two meetings in a row will automatically be removed from serving. The new park commission will meet quarterly. New commissioners include Roy Backus, Sharon Shelton and Tarrah Cheatham Johnson. Current sitting members are Jackie Matthews, Ray Hawkins, Mike Erwin, Vera Marks, Angie Piggee and Rhonda Conway.
