Nashville Summer Feeding Program Providing Meals for Students

U.S. Senator John Boozman visited the Nashville School District on Friday, taking time out to visit with students and administrators involved in the summer feeding program at Nashville Elementary School. Representatives with the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance and Arkansas Department of Education were also on hand to watch the program in action. Boozman says The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Seamless Summer Feeding Program at Nashville Elementary School is a great example for school districts. Elementary School Principal Latito Williams said the number of students participating has been steadily increasing and that providing transportation has been a great help to ensure these students receive meals during the summer months. Again, the summer feeding program at Nashville Elementary School is open to anyone of age 18 and under and is provided Monday through Friday from noon until 12:30.
