As the new year gets underway, a local man is thankful for every day and every blessing. Reggie Marks is active in the Mineral Springs area and has been selected as Fireman of the Year for the past two years. He is the son of Don and Vera Marks. Marks says he enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community. He and several other fireman were going door to door, providing mutal aid and checking on the well being of people the night of the May 2015 tornado that hit Nashville. Marks and friend Clay Bowman had plans to check on the Cottonshed area later that evening. They traveled to Tollette and turned towards Bright Star when the road collapsed underneath them. It is believed that lightning and the heavy rains had damaged a six inch water main. Marks has been rehabilitating ever since and wasn’t sure he would ever have independent mobility again.
