The application deadline for the fall Howard County Single Parent Scholarship is July 15th.
Board member Toyia Witherspoon explains that the scholarship is available to single parents that are seeking a higher education degree that will lead to employment. Applicants must be a legal resident, have earned a high school diploma or GED, not have previously earned a Bachelor’s degree and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
One in five Arkansas families are led by single parents. The scholarship fund can assist with financial support for education, as well as personal support.
