Tuesday’s special election in Mineral Springs to change the city council term length from two years to four years has passed. Howard County Clerk Keri Teague says the proposal passed on a 10 to 4 vote. There was a total of one early vote. She says this means that all of the council seats will be on the ballot in May. Only the two positions in Ward 1 will serve four year terms, with Ward 2 four year terms being implemented in 2020. The results are unofficial until certified by the election commission.
