Three Mineral Springs students presented reports to the Mineral Springs School Board at Monday’s meeting. Second grader Christen Bell has completed reading 100 books since August. She is the top accelerated book reader in grades K-6 at Mineral.
Tenth grader Dakota Smith informed the board that she received an invitation to run at a track and field event in Australia. Smith is an All American in the javelin and also competes in the 100, 200, 400 and relay events in addition to long jump and the triple jump events.
Stephanie Taylor, a junior at Mineral Springs High School, talked about a recent college visit to Southern Arkansas University. Taylor has visited SAU and the Henderson State University campuses. She hopes to major in psychology when she graduates.
