Dear Livestock Producer:
I would like to cordially invite you to either or both of the upcoming programs brought to you by the University Of Arkansas Division Of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service. Both of these programs include research based information on new products, forages and practices beneficial to livestock producers.
- May 18, 6pm at the EH Center in Nashville, will be a 300-Day Grazing program featuring Dr. Paul Beck, Professor and Extension Animal Scientist. Information covered will include how to get started with 300 day grazing practices, as well as more detailed information such as alternative forages that have proven successful in SWAR in winter months. We will have a discussion panel that includes area producers who are implementing at least one of these practices. This is your opportunity to learn from your neighbors about what has been successful (or not so successful) right here in Howard County.
- May 26, 1pm at Robert Falcon Farms in Mineral Springs, will be the Winter Annual Broadleaf Weed Demonstration, where we have several plots with various pesticides applied traditionally, as well as the GrazonNext HL mixed with dry fertilizer. This field trial will show just how effective this mixing process was on a small scale system as compared to other pesticides and the control. The producer also spread GrazonNext HL mixed with fertilizer in the surrounding pasture, so we can see the result on a larger scale. A Dow AgroSciences representative will also be in attendance, as well as Extension specialists who will gladly answer any questions you may have.
I look forward to seeing you there!
