14th Annual Ashdown Community Auction Set for February 7

The Ashdown Community Foundation is preparing to host the 14th annual Ashdown Community Auction next month.
The event is a partnership between the Domtar Community Advisory Team and the Ashdown Community Foundation and will take place on Saturday, February 7, at Ashdown High School. Doors will open at 4 p.m., with the main auction beginning at 6 p.m.
Organizers say the event will offer fun and activities for the entire family, including a live auction, silent auction, penny auction, baked goods, prize raffles, concessions, and more.
Auction items this year will include electronics, sports memorabilia, firearms, coolers, grills, trips, gift certificates, and a variety of other items.
Since the auction began in 2012, organizers say it has raised more than $900,000 to help beautify and improve downtown Ashdown and the city park. Funds raised during this year’s auction will go toward continued improvements in those areas.
Community members with ideas for beautification or improvement projects are encouraged to share their suggestions with a committee member. There are also several ways to support this year’s auction, including donating items or services such as lawn mowing or babysitting, and by attending the event.
Anyone with questions or seeking more information is encouraged to contact an Ashdown Community Foundation committee member. For additional details, Ronda Pounds can be reached by email at pounds@ipa.net.
