Nashville Junior Auxiliary Food Drive

Last week, Tessa Dean of the Nashville Junior Auxiliary spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club about the club’s upcoming Food Drive.

She said the food drive provides food for the club’s Thanksgiving Baskets that are handed out to local families in need, the Nashville High School food pantry and other members of the Nashville community.

Dean said students at the Nashville Primary and Nashville Elementary schools are encouraged to take cans of corn, green beans, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, raviolis and SpaghettiOs, boxes of mac and cheese, dressing or stuffing, cake mixes, icing and cornbread mixes. Dean said the club cannot accept foods that are expired, food from the food backpacks or ramen noodles.

Dean said the winning class from each grade level will receive a popcorn party and the overall winning class in each building will receive a pizza party.

The food drive will continue from Monday, October 31 through Friday, November 4.
