2022 School Year off to smooth start in Dierks

The Dierks Board of Education voted to accept six transfers into the district, which gives the district an elementary enrollment of 286, which is up five from last year and a high school enrollment of 238, which is three down from this time last year.

Superintendent Grover Hill said overall the district had a pretty good first week. He said they’ve tweaked the schedule a little and things seem to be running smoothly.

During their regular August meeting, board members voted to amend their three-year bus lease to reflect a $750 yearly increase.

Board members also voted to amend the salary schedule to include a $1,000 stipend for the boys and girls cross country coach. Board members then amended Coach Kevin Alexander’s contract to include the cross country stipend.
