Dierks Native to be inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Arkansas High School Association

Earlier this week, we took a moment to speak with Hall of Fame Inductee Archie Cothren, who is a Dierks native that will be honored as one of the best at their profession in the state of Arkansas.

In part two of our discussion, we talked about what was the highlight of his career.

Cothren stated that he had so many to choose from but to name a few it was when he was asked to officiate the All-Star game, officiating 4 state championship games where champions were crowned, and receiving this honor of being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Cothren shared some sound advice to the ones that are interested in becoming an official.

Cothren said there is a need for officials, and he also provided information on how you can apply.

Cothren also took a moment to thank members of his family. One in particular was his wife who is says is his most solid and most dependable influence, Holly Cothren.

Cothren along with 4 other officials will be inducted on July 12th in Hot Springs at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Ticket information will be provided at a later date.
