27 children participated in Mineral Springs Shop with a Cop program

Members of the Mineral Springs City Council held their regular monthly meeting yesterday.

Treasurer Denise Juniel discussed the general funds which included revenue and expenditures for the month of November.

Fire Chief Chris Hosteler reported that his department had a total of seven calls. Hosteler stated that they had three 1st responder calls, 2 vehicle accidents, 1 storm spotting tornado warning, and 1 fire alarm. He also reported they had 8 employees to complete a 24 hour specialized training for the month of November from the Arkansas Fire Academy.

Chief of Police Francisco Mercado stated that his officers didn’t write any traffic citations but he mentioned the criminal citations that were written along with the drug bust that happened this month.

Mercado stated that they did the Shop with a Cop program yesterday and they took up to 27 kids from Mineral Springs Christmas shopping.
