44-Year-Old Woman Charged With Drug Possession Following Nashville Traffic Stop

A 44-year-old woman has been charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance following a traffic stop conducted by the Nashville Police Department.
According to an affidavit, Nashville K-9 Officer Greg Parker conducted a traffic stop on November 1, 2025, after observing a black Toyota truck in which neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
Officer Parker made contact with the driver, identified as April Kinsey, and advised her of the reason for the stop. While speaking with Kinsey, Parker reported detecting the odor of marijuana. Kinsey told officers she possessed a medical marijuana card and admitted she had smoked marijuana earlier.
Officer Parker deployed K-9 Thor to conduct an open-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle. The canine alerted to the presence of drugs, and Officer Dillon Roberts arrived on scene to assist. Both the driver and passenger were asked to exit the vehicle.
The passenger was later identified as Catherine Bethal, who was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was issued a court date.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located a zip-lock plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine on the rear passenger-side floorboard.
As a result of the investigation, Kinsey was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. The investigation remains ongoing.
