7-4A will proceed with District basketball tournament

Athletic Directors from the 7-4A Conference have voted to proceed with a post season district basketball tournament. Nashville Athletic Director Bunch Nichols said Covid-19 is changing the format of this year’s tournament. Instead of one school within the district hosting the entire tournament, each game will be hosted by the higher seed. The first tournament games are set to be played Saturday, February 13th. Nichols said there are still some logistics remaining to be worked out before the tournament begins.
Because teams may not be able to complete their entire round robin regular season schedule, tournament seeding will be based on the number of wins a school has.
In the meantime, regular season games will continue through next week & schools will attempt to play as many games as possible. At the current time, Nashville senior high teams are scheduled to play Bauxite tonight and Friday night. Next week’s schedule includes Tuesday games against Hope and games listed on the schedule for Friday, February 12th, against Arkadelphia, have been moved to Thursday, February 11th.
