Mineral Springs Council Meeting
Mineral Springs City Council met in a special called meeting Wednesday evening. In this meeting the council was notified that April Teague, the recorder/treasurer, would have her last day in office this coming Monday July 12th. Teague has 3 ½ years remaining in her term. Teague had a replacement lined up but at the last minute backed out. Mayor Steve Dixon gave the floor to council members for discussion of the topic. A 2nd willing replacement was found, being the daughter of mayor Steve Dixon. However, upon mention Mayor Dixon made known that if that was the route that alderman chose he would feel obligated to resign due to the perception having family members serve together might give. The topic was proposed to be tabled with 4 voting for and 1 against. Mineral Springs City Council meets again Monday and will then revisit the situation.
