Arkansas Department of Corrections Pushing Booster Shot for Inmates

The contracted medical provider for the Arkansas Department of Corrections known as “Wellpath” began offering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots this month.

Approximately 8,000 inmates are eligible for this booster shot which has been gradually given out and will continue to be through November 23rd. The Correctional department indicated their support for the booster in hopes of slowing the potential spread within their facilities. Education continues to be offered to both staff and inmates throughout the state regarding the vaccination.

As an added incentive inmates who become fully vaccinated qualify to have $50 deposited into trust accounts.
