District Governor visits Nashville Rotary Club
Rotary District Governor Kathy Carter attended the weekly meeting of the Nashville Rotary Club and talked about her vision for District 6170.
Carter started by sharing her story as a polio suffering, who was cured by getting the polio vaccine.
Carter reported Rotary International, and the World Health Organization started working together in 1988 to eradicate polio. In 2016, there were 42 cases in the world and that number was down to 2 cases in 2021.
She said experts believe it would only take 10-years for polio to be rampant throughout the world if they stopped giving the polio vaccine.
Carter she was pleased that the Nashville School District was helping with women and children’s issues through the Scrapper Supermarket.
