Filing period closed in Pike County; several contested races
Republican voters in Pike County will have three races on their May 24th primary ballots. In addition to the sheriff/collector’s race, there will also be candidates seeking the assessor’s position and a constable’s position. Staci Stewart and Laramie Littles each filed for the office of Pike County Assessor. The winner of the primary election will face Jennifer Watson in the November General Election. Watson filed as an Independent candidate. The constable’s race will be for the Mountain Township, between Christopher Thompson and Glen Hankins.
There will be no contested Democratic races for Pike County in the May primary.
The South Pike County School District will have one contested race. In Zone 7, Alyssa Duggan and Desmon Dixon both filed for the position. There will also be a pair of contested races in the Centerpoint School District. Dale Sutton and Clinton Arnold each filed for Zone 3. The other race will feature Blake Forga and Nan Kirksey seeking the Centerpoint Zone 7 board seat.
