NSD has new Resource Officer

When the Nashville School District classes return Monday from spring break, there will be a new Resource Officer for the local school system.  Hector Cortez has been hired by the local police department to serve as the Nashville district’s resource officer.

As a 2004 graduate of NHS, Cortez said he is proud to get the opportunity to work in the Nashville Public Schools and to build relationships with the students in all campuses.  He was most recently employed as campus police at UA Cossatot in Nashville since 2015.  He also has previous law enforcement experience with the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, graduating from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2012.
