Scrappers defeat Bobcats 8-2

Nashville erupted for seven runs in the 4th inning of yesterday’s district home contest against Hope, helping lead the Scrappers to an 8 to 2 win at Wilson Park.  Hope’s only runs in the contest came in the 7th inning. The victory improves Nashville’s conference record to 6 and 5, with three district games remaining.  Offensively, the Scrappers came through with ten hits in the contest.  Tyler Brown was the leading hitter, collecting three hits in four at bats.  Kaleb Halter also had a pair of hits for Nashville.  Brown and Slade Slayton each had a pair of runs batted in during the game.

On the mound, Garrett Willard struck out 11 Bobcat batters, while allowing just three hits over five innings. 

Banks Ray came in to pitch the last two innings in relief.

The Scrappers will play at Arkadelphia on Friday.
