Arkansas 5th conservative state in the union
Arkansas state lawmakers are among the most conservative int he nation according to a nae analysis conducted by the Center for Legislative Accountability. The Center for Legislative Accountability is a project of CPAC Foundation and the American Conservation Union Foundation.
The Arkansas state legislature earned a conservative rating of 71 percent in 2021, far above the national average of 49 percent. Arkansas tied Florida as the fifth most conservative state, trailing only South Dakota, Indiana, Tennessee, and Alabama in conservative voting. The conservative rating is calculated through CPAC’s scorecards and is based on lawmaker voting across 186 policy areas ranging from cultural and life issues to tax, fiscal and regulatory policies.
Howard County’s state representative Justin Gonzales scored an 83 percent conservative voting rating.
