Two people sentenced in Howard County Circuit Court
A Conway County man has been sentenced on Theft By Receiving charges this week in Howard County Circuit Court. 39 year old Dennis Bates, Jr., of the Hattieville community, was given a six year prison sentence. Bates was charged in October 2021 for being in possession of a stolen pickup in Dierks. Police said the truck had been stolen in August.
Bates is already in prison on other non-related charges. His sentence from this week will be served concurrently with his existing prison term.
A plea of guilty to drug related charges has resulted in a Tuckerman, Arkansas woman being given a 90 day sentence to a community corrections facility. 40 year old April Dooley was arrested during a May 2021 traffic stop in Nashville. She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance–meth cocaine and with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition to the 90 day sentence, Dooley was also given a five year probated sentence & ordered to pay a $1,500 dollar fine, plus costs.
