Attendance rate lower this year at JAWES in Dierks
The Dierks School Board held their regular monthly meeting last week.
High School Principal Gene Strode provided an overview of attendance for 7th through 12th grade and a total building comparison to last year’s numbers.
Elementary Principal Lori Finley stated that the building attendance rate is slightly lower than this time last year but she’s coming up with an improvement plan to identify the students that need extra help and support.
Finley also talked about how the Costume Carnival fundraiser was successful. She said after expenses, they raised around $14,000.
There was also a motion made by Jeffrey Mounts and seconded by Kara Tedford, to approve one into the district. Another motion was made by Laken Graham and seconded by Justin Simmons to approve two students out of the district.
