Lance dismisses FOI complaint against Arkansas Parks Department

Officials with the Arkansas Department of State Parks responded to the AR Freedom of Information Act request issued by Murfreesboro Advertising and and Tourism Commission, Marketing Director Johnathan Lance and upon receiving the documents Lance withdrew the Small Claims Division complaint that he filed in Pike County. However, park’s department has not issued any formal statement regarding the diamond find that is in question.

The Arkansas Department of State Parks sent Lance 28 documents including pictures and emails between state employees discussing this particular diamond and the circumstances surrounding it.

According to one of the documents, the state park department is working to establish a policy clarifying what information is subject to a citizen’s Freedom of Information request.
