Pike County K9 unit helps take down drug offender

On January 12th, 2023 Pike County Deputy Chance Reid conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 26 near Antoine for crossing the center line. 
The driver was identified as 31 year Michael C Hale of Murfreesboro.
As reported, Pike County Deputy Chris Gates and K9 Dugo assisted the stop. The K9 indicated the presence of drugs and alerted on the driver’s door. Hale reportedly handed Deputy Reid a clear plastic bag with a small clear bag inside containing a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, multiple empty small clear baggies, and a glass smoking pipe containing suspected methamphetamine inside it. 
It was also reported that during a search, Deputy Gates found a syringe in a backpack in the back passenger seat of the truck and silver scales under the dashboard of the truck.  Hale confessed that all the contents were his.
Hale was placed under arrest and transported to the Pike County Jail and charged with driving left of center and possession with purpose.
