Hope School Board Meeting

The Hope School Board held a special called meeting Monday and accepted three students who wanted to transfer into the district. Two students were from Nashville and one student was from the Nevada County School District.

Board members also voted to accept Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Crossley’s recommendation to dismiss a school employee. Dr. Crossley recommended the board amend the bus driver pay with band and coaches receiving more money for trips that are less than an hour.

Patrons of the Hope School District will be voting on a proposed millage increase on Tuesday, August 8th. The millage increase would help fund improvements on several Hope School campuses. Voters in Hope will vote at the Fair Park Community Center. Voters in Spring Hill will vote at the Spring Hill Fire Station. Fulton voters will vote in the Fulton Fire Station and the Washington voters will vote at the Washington Fire Station.

Early voting is underway at the Hempstead County Courthouse Monday through Friday until Monday, August 7. The Hope School District is seeking a 12 mill increase, which will make the district’s millage 46.7 mills.
