High School Football Teams in the local area hosting games tonight at their home turf

Tonight, the Nashville Scrappers will host the defending 3A state champs, the Charleston Tigers.

Nashville comes into tonight’s game 2 and 1 on the season with victories over rivals, the Hope Bobcats and the De Queen Leopards, while dropping the season opener to the Magnolia Panthers.

Charleston comes to the Hill with a 0 and 2 record. The Tigers were defeated by the Elkins Elks in their season opener, 49 to 13 and they were defeated by the Ozark Hillbillies 28 to 7.

Tonight’s broadcast will begin with the statewide gameday show at 5:30 followed by the First National Insurance studio pre-game show with Coach Boomer Brown and Jim Pinson. Bunch Nichols, Mark Trout and Mike Aylett will bring you the action from Scrapper Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7 pm.

It’s a big week in the 3-2A conference with Dierks and Mineral Springs holding Homecoming festivities and Murfreesboro hosting the Gurdon Go-Devils.

Dierks will host the Conway Christian Eagles tonight for Homecoming.

Dierks is 2 and 1 on the season following their 30 to 25 victory over the Gurdon Go-Devils last week. Queen Ally Hogg and her court have been honored all week during the Homecoming festivities and head coach Paul Ernest joked about the distractions but feels his team will be ready to face the Eagles Friday night.

Mineral Springs is 3 and 0 on the season and ranked number one in 2A football. The Hornets will host the Bearden Bears tonight for their first home game of the season. Coach Jason Hathcock described it as a ribbon cutting event including several special moments. He mentioned the Homecoming ceremony at 6 pm and a special play on the Hornet’s first offensive possession.

Murfreesboro will be playing their first home game of the season tonight, as they host the Gurdon Go-Devils. Murfreesboro is 2 and 0 and coach Brad Chesshir is expecting a large home crowd to cheer on the Rattlers.

Chesshir also stated Gurdon will be the biggest challenge the Rattlers have faced his season.

All 3-2A games will kick off tonight at 7 pm.
