Murfreesboro Elementary School receives B Essa Score

During Superintendent Tanya Wilcher’s report she took a moment to recognize the Murfreesboro Elementary School for receiving a B Essa score. Wilcher also recognized the Murfreesboro High School for showing growth and she stated that they were only .88 points away from receiving a B Essa score.

Cheyana Burns presented a report to the board that was in regard to the High School’s RTI along with the study hall plans. Wilcher explained that RTI is a 30-minute response intervention for students, and she mentioned the math intervention program at MES. 

Also, during the meeting, the board approved several motions such as appointing Andrea McRae as a board member for Zone 4, approving the proposed district budget as presented for the 2023-2024 school year, and to approve the electronic fund transfers to vendors of deductions withheld during payroll processing. 

In conclusion, Wilcher talked about upcoming events that will take place in the South Pike County School District.

Wilcher stated that the next board meeting is scheduled for Monday October 16th.
