Mineral Springs School Board Approves Financial Report, Fleet Vehicle Funding at June Meeting

The Mineral Springs School Board met in regular session on Tuesday, June 24, at the district’s administration building, reviewing key financial updates and approving future purchases for district operations.
District Treasurer Frankie Tollett presented the monthly financial report. As of the meeting, the legal fund balance stood at $1,583,034.40, and $1,656,042.37 when including certificates of deposit. The all-fund balance totaled $2,555,697.55. Following the report, the board voted unanimously, 5–0, to approve the financial statement.
Superintendent JonDavid Amerson updated the board on several upcoming projects and operational changes. Pavement work on the district’s parking lots is scheduled to begin next week, and the cafeteria is expected to see lower costs as the district transitions back to the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, replacing the current Provision 2 model. CEP allows all students to receive free meals without household applications.
In other business, the board approved a spending cap of up to $120,000 for the purchase of two new fleet vehicles: a truck and a 15-passenger van. The motion, made by Ray Hawkins and seconded by Xavier Vaughn, passed unanimously.
