A domestic dispute between two brothers turned violent in Lockesburg on Thursday, resulting in a shooting, a fiery crash, and multiple people hospitalized. Authorities say the suspect is now in custody.

According to Police records, on August 1, 2025, Sevier County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 600 block of Provo Road. While en route, a second 911 call came in reporting a nearby vehicle accident.

Investigators later determined the incident began in the 1400 block of Provo Road, where a domestic altercation between brothers Justin and Robert Massingill escalated. According to early reports, Robert allegedly shot Justin, who then fled the scene in a vehicle. During the escape, the vehicle crashed and caught fire.

The driver, identified as Justin Massingill, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Sevier County Medical Center. Two passengers—an adult female and a juvenile—sustained serious injuries in the crash and were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.

A BOLO (Be-On-the-Lookout) was issued, and the Dierks Police Department quickly located and arrested Robert Massingill without incident. He was booked into the Sevier County Jail on multiple felony charges, including:

Domestic Battering – 2nd Degree (Class C Felony)

Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons (Class B Felony)

The Arkansas State Police is leading the investigation into the vehicle crash, while the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting.
