Mineral Springs City Council Approves Major Equipment Purchase, Discusses Future Ordinance on Social Gatherings

The Mineral Springs City Council met Monday evening for their regular monthly meeting, with Council Member Frankie Harris absent.

One of the key items on the agenda was a presentation from Robert Mooney, a representative of River City Hydraulics based in Sherwood, regarding the purchase of a Jet Machine used for utility maintenance. The equipment, priced at over $70,000, was explained in detail by Mooney.

Mooney also informed the council that training will be provided once the equipment is delivered to the city.

Following the presentation and discussion, the council unanimously approved a motion to move forward with the purchase. A second motion passed 4–1, authorizing the city to spend $76,942.44 from the general fund for the Jet Machine. Mooney noted the machine is expected to arrive within 30 to 60 days.

In other business, the council approved a motion to destroy outdated hardware and software documents currently stored in the water office.

Additionally, Council Member James Jean proposed to development a plan focused on regulating social gatherings. The plan would outline specific rules and requirements for such events within city limits. The council is expected to revisit this discussion during next month’s meeting.
