Mineral Springs School Board Opens Zone 4 Vacancy, Approves Co-op Resolution and Financial Report

The Mineral Springs School Board met in regular session on August 26, 2025, addressing key matters including a board vacancy, district representation, and financial updates.

Board President William Dixon informed members that under ASBA policy, any board member who fails to attend meetings without a medical or military excuse creates a vacancy. As a result, the board voted 4-1 to open Zone 4, previously held by Mike Erwin, for replacement. The district is required to publish the vacancy for 30 days and has 90 days to fill the position.

The board also unanimously approved the 2025-2026 Co-op Resolution, allowing Superintendent JonDavid Amerson to vote on behalf of the district in cooperative matters.

District Treasurer Frankie Tollett presented the monthly financial report, showing a legal fund balance of $1.23 million (without CDs) and $1.3 million (with CDs). The district’s total all-fund balance stood at $2.12 million. The financial statement was approved unanimously.
