Scrappers Fall Just Short in Thriller Against Dardanelle, 28-26

In a game filled with grit, big plays, and non-stop action, the Nashville Scrappers narrowly fell to the Dardanelle Sand Lizards, 28-26, in a Friday night showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats.
Dardanelle struck first, scoring two touchdowns in the opening quarter and converting both extra points to take a 14-0 lead.
The Scrappers answered in the second quarter as running back Tucker Dixon powered into the end zone for Nashville’s first touchdown of the night. The extra point attempt was no good, and the teams went into halftime with Dardanelle leading 14-6.
In the third quarter, the Scrappers rallied. Quarterback Jacoby Hopson scored on a keeper and then connected with Gauge Applegate for a successful two-point conversion, tying the game at 14-14. The score remained knotted heading into the final quarter.
Dardanelle regained momentum in the fourth, adding two more touchdowns and PATs to jump ahead 28-14. But the Scrappers kept fighting. Hopson added another touchdown to bring the score to 28-20, though the extra point again failed.
Dixon powered in for his second touchdown of the night, making it 28-26. However, the Scrappers were unable to convert the extra point, and Dardanelle held on for the narrow win.
Nashville moves to 1-2 on the season and will have a bye week next week before returning to the field.
