Howard County Quorum Court Approves Economic Development Resolution and Key Appointments

The Howard County Quorum Court held their regular monthly meeting yesterday, addressing several key items on the agenda.

One of the key points of the meeting was the attendance of Dana Poindexter, Regional Manager for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, who was present to answer questions regarding Resolution 2025-3. This resolution concerns the local government’s endorsement of Cantex Arkansas, LLC for participation in the state’s Tax Back Program, which provides sales and use tax refunds on building materials and equipment for eligible businesses.

Following the discussion, the Justices of the Peace voted to approve the resolution.

The court also passed Ordinance 2025-10, which outlines the Howard County Operating Budget for 2025. In addition, members approved the appointment of Miranda Serrano to the Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, replacing Gabriel Green.
