Dierks High School Named Finalist in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights National Competition

A national spotlight is shining on the small town of Dierks, Arkansas, after Dierks High School was announced as one of the Top 25 finalists in T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition. The school is the only one in the state of Arkansas to be selected for this honor — and the excitement is building.

Earlier this football season, Dierks High School also received $5,000 through T-Mobile’s “5K Fridays” sweepstakes, a strong start that has now turned into a major opportunity for the Outlaw community.

Local resident and Dierks Booster Club member Krystal Greene says the recognition is huge for the town and the students.

Greene also shared how she first learned about the contest and how she helped get Dierks involved.

The Outlaws’ stadium hasn’t seen upgrades in over 20 years, but that hasn’t stopped the community from showing up. Every Friday night, members of the community fill the stands with pride.

For Greene, this moment goes beyond just football — it’s about what it represents for the town’s future.

And while being a finalist is an achievement in itself, winning the $1 million grand prize would mean major upgrades to the school’s athletic facilities. Greene says the community now needs to rally together to keep the momentum going — through voting.

To celebrate the school’s finalist status, T-Mobile will host a special “Pink Night” celebration on Friday October 3rd, featuring games, giveaways, and free concessions for all attendees.

Voting is open now through October 24th, and supporters can vote once per day by visiting the Friday Night 5G Lights website.

If Dierks High School wins the grand prize, it would bring more than just stadium upgrades — it would send a message to students that even from a small town, they can still dream big.
