Tragic Loss in Saratoga: Woman Found Injured Near Trail Later Dies

A tragic incident in Saratoga has claimed the life of a local woman after she was found injured near a horse trail Monday evening.
According to a report from the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office, on September 29, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Deputies Cayman Cato and Johnny Weaver were dispatched to 200 Dogwood Lane in response to a medical emergency.
The call came after 79-year-old Ann Frick’s horse returned home without her. The family, concerned for her safety, contacted authorities.
Upon arrival, Deputy Cato spoke with Kim Frick, Ann’s daughter, who stated that her father, David Frick, had gone out searching and located Ann lying off to the side of a horse trail.
Pafford EMS responded to the scene. Family members told deputies they were unsure how long Mrs. Frick had been in the woods before being found.
Due to the extent of her injuries, Mrs. Frick was airlifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
