Scrappers Dominate Homecoming with 62-26 Rout Over Fountain Lake

The Nashville Scrappers gave their fans a Homecoming to remember Friday night, steamrolling the Fountain Lake Cobras 62-26 at Scrapper Stadium in a conference showdown that showcased explosive offense, lockdown defense, and big-play fireworks from all over the field.
The game opened with a quick strike from Fountain Lake, who scored the first touchdown of the night. But with the extra point no good, the Cobras took a slim 6-0 lead — and that would be the last time they held any advantage.
Scrapper quarterback Jacoby Hopson answered fast, charging in for two touchdowns in the first quarter.
Kicker Luis Flores was automatic on the extra points, and with a third touchdown run from speedster running back Tucker Dixon, Nashville stormed ahead 21-6. The defense got in on the action as well, with Cortez Cooper coming up with a key interception to kill another Cobra drive.
In the second quarter, Dixon added another touchdown to his stat line, and Flores continued his perfect night with the PAT, pushing the score to 28-6.
Hopson wasn’t done, adding his third rushing touchdown of the night to make it 35-6.
The Cobras tried to rally, punching in a touchdown midway through the quarter, but again failed to convert the extra point, making it 35-12. Any momentum Fountain Lake gained was instantly erased when running back Trendon Northcross electrified the crowd with a kickoff return touchdown, pushing the lead to 42-12 after another Flores extra point.
The second half didn’t bring any relief for the Cobras.
Hopson found Cooper on a beautiful pass-and-catch touchdown in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 48-12.
Then came the highlight of the night — a 50-yard pick-six from 250-pound defensive lineman Jaydon Williamson, who read the play perfectly and rumbled to the end zone.
With the crowd roaring and Flores true again on the PAT, Nashville led 55-12.
The Scrappers capped their scoring in the fourth quarter, when Jacob Teague jumped a Cobra route and returned the interception for a touchdown — Nashville’s second defensive score of the night. (SB)
Flores stayed perfect, making it 62-12.
With the dominant win, the Scrappers improve to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
Nashville will now hit the road to take on the Bauxite Miners this Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM, and fans can catch all the action live on B99.5.
