Local Hunting Clubs Encouraged to Donate Deer to Help Feed the Hungry

Hunting clubs across Howard, Little River, and Sevier counties are teaming up this season to make a difference in their communities — one deer at a time.
As part of the “Donate Your Deer, Help Those in Need” initiative, hunters are encouraged to donate harvested deer to benefit local food pantries in De Queen, Horatio, Dierks, and the CCCUA campus. All donated meat will stay local, helping provide meals for families in need through the Hungry for Arkansas program.
The donation period runs now through December 31, and participating hunters are asked to bring their deer to Prime Country Meats, located at 526 Clear Creek Road in Horatio. For each deer donated, hunters will receive a ticket — and one lucky hunting club will win a $1,000 prize at the end of the season.
This initiative not only supports local families but also promotes responsible hunting and community involvement. Organizers say it’s a great way for hunting clubs to give back while enjoying the sport.
