City of Nashville Moving Forward with Water Projects

At the most recent Nashville City Council meeting, Mayor Larry Dunaway updated aldermen on several ongoing water and wastewater projects.
Mayor Dunaway reported that the city is still awaiting a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the new intake line at the Little Missouri River.
He also noted that one of the clarifiers at the city’s wastewater treatment plant has been replaced. Dunaway said he had anticipated that the second clarifier might fail eventually but had hoped it would last a bit longer. Fortunately, the city was able to use funds from a grant provided by the Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development Commission to cover the cost of the new unit.
Dunaway went on to explain that the professional service fees paid to Friday, Eldredge & Clark, as well as engineering fees to Civil Engineering, were deducted from the funds raised through the city’s recent bond sales.
The Nashville City Council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 24th, at noon.
