U of A Cooperative Extension Service will be hosting post eclipse litter cleanup day
Next Tuesday, April 9th the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service is partnering with the Cossatot River State Park for a post eclipse litter cleanup day. This is in conjunction with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful program. Registration and assignments start at 8:00 AM with work to begin at 9:00 AM. They will meet at the visitor’s center located at 1980 Hwy 278 West, Wickes, AR 71973.
They want to encourage those who can participate to join with the Cossatot River State Park staff, Umpire High School students, and other volunteers for a day of service cleaning up the litter after the eclipse. This is a great opportunity to give something back to this special place which includes one of the nation’s Wild and Scenic Rivers.
Trash bags, gloves, safety vests and other supplies will be provided, along with water and snacks. You must bring your own pick-up sticks or grabbers.
For those needing more information, please contact the park at 870 385-2201 or John Wesson, U of A Cooperative Extension Service Agent at 870-584-3013.
