Speedway Truckstop Begins Construction on New Hope, Arkansas Location

Speedway Truckstop has begun construction on a new travel center in Hope, Arkansas. The site, located on North Hervey along Highway 278 West across from Walmart, will be the company’s second location in the state and part of a broader expansion plan stretching from Tennessee to Texas. The company expects the location to open sometime next year, though the final timeline is still being determined. Speedway also expressed appreciation for the support it has received from the city, county, and Hempstead County Economic Development throughout the planning process and plans to share additional details as the project progresses.
Local officials say the development will bring significant economic benefits to the region. According to Anna Powell, President of the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation, the project marks the culmination of two years of work alongside the Reynolds Realty team. Powell noted that the new truck stop will enhance local infrastructure and substantially increase the community’s tax base, helping fund essential services and projects.
The planned facility includes 40 overnight parking spaces, seven car pumps, six truck lanes, and an estimated 5,000 square feet of building space. Although retail food options have not yet been announced, Powell and other officials expect the development to generate new jobs and support long-term economic growth for Hope and the surrounding area.
