Hunting Clubs Donate Deer to Support Local Food Pantries

Hunting clubs throughout Howard, Little River, and Sevier counties are coming together this season to support their communities through a special donation effort.
The program, called “Donate Your Deer, Help Those in Need,” encourages hunters to donate harvested deer to help supply meat for local food pantries in De Queen, Horatio, Dierks, and the CCCUA campus. All donated venison will remain in the area and be distributed to families in need through the Hungry for Arkansas program.
Hunters can participate through Wednesday, December 31, by bringing their donated deer to Prime Country Meats, located at 526 Clear Creek Road in Horatio. For every deer donated, hunters will receive a ticket, and at the end of the season, one hunting club will be selected to win a $1,000 prize.
Organizers say the initiative is a meaningful way to support local families while also encouraging responsible hunting practices and strong community involvement. They hope the effort continues to grow as more clubs get involved.
