Dierks School Board Approves Trap Team Donation, Discusses Stadium Bids

The Dierks School Board held its regular monthly meeting last week.

During the meeting, board members received an update from JoAnn Walters Elementary Principal Beth Shelton regarding interim testing currently being administered to students in third through sixth grades on the elementary campus.

The board approved a one-time donation of $2,500 to the Dierks Trap Team to help offset participation costs for team members. The motion had previously been tabled during a special called meeting on Wednesday, January 21.

Board members also discussed details to be included in the initial phase of the bid process for the football stadium project. Those proposed bid specifications will now be reviewed by district architect Craig Boone.

In other business, the board approved the transfer of three students from the De Queen School District to the Dierks School District. Members also voted to extend the contract of Superintendent Grover Hill through the end of the 2027–2028 school year. His current contract was set to expire at the end of the 2026–2027 school year.

Additionally, Adrianna Hogg submitted her resignation as senior cheer sponsor effective at the end of the school year. She will continue her employment with the district as the Family and Consumer Science teacher.
